Sally Roseveare - writer |
A North Carolina native, I live at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, with my husband Ron, and our dog Angus. Ron and I have three married children who have blessed us with 12 grandchildren. I enjoy visits with family and friends, playing bridge, cross-stitching, horseback riding, dancing with Ron, and dreaming up plots for future books. Made-from-scratch chocolate meringue pie is my all-time favorite breakfast; grits swimming in melted butter is second. A contributing writer for Prime Living Magazine, I'm a member of the Lake Writers, The Virginia Writers Club, and Sisters in Crime. Secrets at Spawning Run, my first novel, is a mystery set at Smith Mountain Lake. I'm writing my second and third novels, also set at the lake. |
Secrets at Spawning Run: With her dog King for company, Aurora Harris returns to her childhood home at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, for her mother's funeral and finds herself entangled in a web of deceit, theft and murder. Will her wits and her knowledge of the lake be enough to save her life and her husband's? |

Excerpt from Chapter One |
Luke followed the overturned boat's anchor rope into the depths of Smith Mountain Lake, slid his gloved hand down the rope until he hit a knot, then flipped on his underwater light. He didn't like winter diving in Virginia, disliked wearing the necessary dry suit instead of a wet suit, but at least visibility was better than in summer. And he knew that winter temperatures and forty-degree water always slowed the decomposition and bloating of victims' bodies. |
